I Don’t Like What I See
It’s a new year. A new day.
If you’re anything like millions of other people, you spent yesterday flipping through your Instagram feed looking at the pictures that summed up your life this past year.
Do you like what you see?
Or does it all leave you feeling stale?
I mean, it’s a new year. A new decade actually. And I was struck this morning as I got sucked in once again to flipping my thumb through peoples posts. Most of them I’m just mindlessly passing, by the way. Why?
Because I don’t like what I see.
Nothing is “grabbing” me. It’s all the same.
It’s the same as it was yesterday.
Our content needs to change.
But for that to happen, our methods need to change.
Rather than CAPTURING a moment so it can be shared, what if this day is the start of us LIVING a moment so that it can sustain?
I for one have gotten caught up in the silly little game of it all. As this year has drawn to a close I’ve pulled away from the things that feed my soul and replaced them with the knockoffs that actually dry my soul out.
Let’s not make another resolution. Let’s start a reformation.
One that altars the life we live and the people we live it with.
What if we actually lived 2020 like we are seeing 20/20 instead of this half awake nonsense that we so easily get lulled into?
